Which stat is more impressive?...93% would refer or the 'A' average?

Our company survey all active customers (close to 50,000). There are two stats that we are considering using.

1- 93% of our customers would refer us to a friend.

2- Our customers rated our service with an 'A'

Which do you think would be more effective in advertising?

Which stat is more impressive?...93% would refer or the 'A' average?
Yes I believe so !!!
Reply:if the 93% is a true number and not just ballooned in order to show progress , and or work relativity , than i'd say advertising is in the bag as word of mouth , as any American knows , is the best ad a place can have . though it doesnt hurt to shoot for the remaining 7% by putting it out on the waves .
Reply:I think the first one is more impressive. alot of times I think people rate A meaning 'no complaints' but that doesn't mean they loved it either.
Reply:93% because it makes it seem like you guys actually bothered to survey a bunch of people

A makes it sound like you didnt bother to figure out the %age
Reply:93% because it shows how hard you guys worked to come up with it

Legitimate work from home, I live in Asia?

Legitimate work from home, I live in Asia?
right you are!
Reply:maybe you can start a mini food business...

Reply:If you want to work from your computer at home, you are probably going to have to do it as a business owner, rather than as an employee. There are no online work-at-home "jobs".

When you apply for a job offline, in the bricks and mortar world, do you have to pay anything? Of course not. It should be the same in the online world. If you are asked to pay any money, at best, it is a business opportunity, but more likely it is just a scam.

Be very careful that you don't get scammed.

I do affiliate marketing online. I've been doing it for a year and I'm getting ready to quit my regular job, as I am now making over $10k per month. However, it takes dedicated, persistent work, at least a few thousand of initial working capital, decent organizational skills, and a healthy dose of motivation, but you can make a living at it if you stick with it.

But that is a business.

Starting a business requires a lot of work and dedication. You cannot start a business this week and expect to be earning a good profit next week.

Employees tend to have a "job" mindset whereby they worked this week, so they expect to see results this week (i.e. a paycheck this week).

In business, you don't see results like that. Take, for instance, starting a new restaurant. You'll first have to choose a location. The most successful restaurants have their own location, with their own parking lots.

If you wanted to open a restaurant like that, you'd spend a couple of months looking for the right location. Then you'd spend thousands of dollars for an architect to help design the plans with you. Then you'd spend thousands of dollars getting your plans approved by the local authorities.

And then, after all that, you'd be approved to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on hiring a firm to actually build your building. And after that, you'd spend tens of thousands of dollars to install the interior decorations.

And then you'd spend thousands of dollars hiring employees and training them, as well as having them prepare for the grand opening.

And then, after over a year and spending over a half million dollars, you'd be ready to open the doors and start earning your first dollar.

I say this to illustrate my point: businesses take time and money up front to develop. In the longer period of time, this time and money invested up front will pay off.

But businesses take time to develop!

It is not like being an employee where you get instant results, meaning work this week, get paid this week.

Business is not like that.

If you want something easy, with no investment, you could probably make $500 to $1000 per month getting paid by companies to write postings on blogs about their products. That's about the only legitimate way that I know of to earn money online without any investment.

I wish you much business success, if you choose to go that route.
Reply:Perhaps, you can work from home.

I heard about this a lots but I never found.

If you find such work, pls contact me

Math QUestion?

The utility company wishes to estimate the percentage of people in the U.S. who use electricity to heat their homes. Past data indicate that 154 out of 700 customers surveyed used electricity to heat their homes. If the company wishes to be 98% confident to within 3%, how large a sample would be needed?

a. 516

b. 733

c. 854

d. 1036

e. 1266

f. 1503

g. 2066

h. none of these

Math QUestion?
The probability that k people in a sample of n people use electricity can be calculated using a binomial random variable..

P(K = k) = N-Choose-K p^k (1-p)^(n-k)

where p = 154/700 = .22

N-Choose-K = n! / [ (n-k)! * k!]

Let the lower limit be L1..

L1 = floor (.97 *.22 * n)

Let the upper limit be L2..

L2 = floor (1.03*.22*n)

Find the smallest n, such that

∑Pk ≥ .98

where the lower and upper limits to the summation are L1 and L2, respectively

When n=516, ∑Pk = .250

When n=733, ∑Pk = .344

When n=854, ∑Pk= .350

When n=1036, ∑Pk= .374

When n=1266, ∑Pk= .413

When n=1503, ∑Pk= .467

When n=2066, ∑Pk= .543

I calculated these in MathCad using this code:

N := 2066

L1 := floor(N*.22*.97)

L2 :=floor(N*.22*1.03)

pbinom(L2,N,.22) - pbinom(L1,N,.22) = .543

none of the answers came anywhere near .98.. however, when N=21091 =%26gt; .98 and when N=21090 =%26gt;.979

therefore N=21091

h) NONE OF THE ABOVE.

Statistics help Inference for Proportions?

An automobile manufacturer would like to know what proportion of its customers are dissatisfied with the service received from their local dealer. The customer relations department will survey a random sample of customers and compute a 95% confidence interval for the proportion that are dissatisfied. From past studies, they believe that this proportion will be about 0.23. Find the sample size needed if the margin of error of the confidence interval is to be about 0.01.

n =

After taking this survey with the sample size above, suppose 15% of the sample say that they are dissatisfied. What is the margin of error of the 95% confidence interval?

MOE =

If you had no prior information about possible values for p, how large a sample would be needed to be certain that the margin of error was at most 0.01 with 95% confidence?

n =

Statistics help Inference for Proportions?
large sample confidence intervals are used to find a region in which we are 100 (1-α)% confident the true value of the parameter is in the interval.

For large sample confidence intervals for the proportion in this situation you have:

pHat ± z * sqrt( (pHat * (1-pHat)) / n)

where pHat is the sample proportion

z is the zscore for having α% of the data in the tails, i.e., P( |Z| %26gt; z) = α

n is the sample size

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

in the first question we have to find the value of n for which

z * sqrt( (pHat * (1-pHat)) / n) %26lt; 0.01

the z-score for the 95% CI is z = 1.96

1.96 * sqrt( 0.23 * ( 1 - 0.23 ) / n ) %26lt; 0.01

sqrt(0.1771 / n ) %26lt; 0.005102041

0.1771 / n %26lt; 2.603082e-05

n %26gt; 0.1771 / 2.603082e-05

n %26gt; 6803.474

you need an integer value for n so n %26gt; 6804 for the margin or error to be 0.01 or smaller.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

b)

1.96 * sqrt( 0.15 * (1 - 0.15) / 6804 ) = 0.008484554

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

c)

worse case is to have a proportion of 0.50. this maximizes the square root function. This is easy to prove in just a couple simple calculus steps.

1.96 * sqrt( 0.5 * 0.5 / n ) %26lt; 0.01

n %26gt; (0.5 * 0.5) / ((0.01 / 1.96) ^ 2)

n %26gt; 9604

In most businesses, increasing prices of products can negatively impact the number of customers. A bus company

In most businesses, increasing prices of products can negatively impact the number of customers. A bus company in a small town has an average number of riders of 800 per day. The bus company charges $2.25 for a ride. They conducted a survey of their customers and found that they will lose approximately 40 customers per day for each $.25 increase in fare.

In most businesses, increasing prices of products can negatively impact the number of customers. A bus company
Hi Kelly,

a) Let the number of riders be a function of the fare charged. Graph the function, identify the graph of the function (line, parabola, hyperbola, or exponential), and find the slope of the graph.

Let y = the number of riders

Let x = ticket price, in dollars

y = -160x + 1160

This is a linear equation which will graph as a straight line.

The slope of -160 indicates they will lose 160 riders for every $1 increase in ticket price. (That's the same as a decrease of 40 riders for every increase of 25¢.) 1160 is the maximum number of riders if the ride was free.

Graph: Graph points at (0,1160), (2, 840), and (7,40). Draw a straight line through them.

Graph Type: linear (line)

What is the slope of the graph? -160

b) The bus company has determined that even if they set the price very low, there is a maximum number of riders permitted each day. If the price is $0 (free), how many riders are permitted each day? 1160, which is the y intercept of the equation (0,1160) means at $0 there are 1,160 riders.

Answer: 1160, which is the y intercept of the equation above. (0,1160) means at $0 there are 1,160 riders.

Show work in this space:

From the points (2.25,800) and (2.50,760), the slope can be found by:

Y2 - Y1

---------- = m

X2 - X1

Using (2.25,800) and (2.50,760), it becomes:

800 - 760

---------------- = 40/-.25 = -160 = m

2.25 - 2.5

Using the point-slope formula: Y- y1 = m(X - x1) gives the equation:

Y - 800 = -160(X - 2.25)

Y - 800 = -160X + 360

Y = -160X + 1160

c) If the bus company sets the price too high, no one will be willing to ride the bus. Beginning at what ticket price will no one be willing to ride the bus?

Answer: $7.25

Show work in this space:

Using the equation Y = -160X + 1160, let the number of riders, Y, = 0. Then solve for x.

Y = -160X + 1160

0 = -160X + 1160

160x = 1160

x = 7.25

At a price of $7.25, no one will ride the bus.

I hope that helps!1 :-)
Reply:If they can only raise the fare in $0.25 increments, then the bus company will maximize their revenue at either $3.50 per ride, which will have a corresponding ridership of 600 passengers, resulting in revenue of $2,100 per day, OR, they can raise the fare to $3.75 per ride, at which point ridership will drop to 560 passengers, but revenue will stay at $2,100 per day.

At $3.25 and at $4.00, ridership will be at 640 or 520 passengers respectively, and the revenue will drop to $2,080 per day.
Reply:Is there a question here somewhere?

Treated like a VIP??( Bar or Restaurant )?

I have a question when going out to a bar or restaurant what would make you feel like your a VIP?? If it would just something very simple or would they really have to go out of there way?? I would like some examples.Im doing a survey for customer service for restaurants and bars

Thank You

Treated like a VIP??( Bar or Restaurant )?
In my experiance I beleave some thing small can make all the differance such as amuse buche witch translates to little taste , in some of the nicer places this is given for free and consist of whatever the chef wants to give I have given thins such as toast points with salmon roe or a single shrimp ravioli with a nice sauce ect. Infact most guest feel they are getting vip treatment just for a small gift such as this.
Reply:There was a restaurant I went to once before. I tipped large the first time there, but did not expect to be remembered. I made a reservation 3 months later. When I arived and gave the Maitre'd my name,he greated me by name(Mr. doe) and asked if I would like my usual table( I had a very good table the first time I dined there because a private party booked an entire room). My date was somewhat impressed. From then on every server, busboy, or manager who stopped by the table , addressed me by name. It feels good to be important, but it feels better to be important in front of people who are important to you.
Reply:spend big
Reply:to tell you the truth... it doesnt take much. just get a good drink and something decent to eat. if that helps.

Do you think that surveys accurately represent how groups of people feel about an issue?

At my company, we're encouraged to send out surveys to gage how our internal customers feel about our work. I think that sometimes, we're too quick to judge our success or failure by the comments of a few. What do you think?

Do you think that surveys accurately represent how groups of people feel about an issue?
I for one never accurately fill out surveys so take it from there.
Reply:well no one ever asks my opinion and I generally disagree with survey findings........ maybe you should do a survey on this............
Reply:Survey is O.K. but has to be designed, and handled properly -

1. The questions have to be intelligent, make sense. Misleading questions, or meaningless questions will mislead the results. 2. Which consumer group you target your survey is equally important - Let us use a detergent to illustrate: you send the survey to Senior citizen, executives, or teen agers, young students for answer are all wrong. The consumer group should be housewives, middle aged consumers. If you mistakenly sent your questions to the wrong groups, the answers will all be garbage's - they just fill up your answer sheet to finish the survey. 3. Also, the survey should be conducted over a longer period of time - a short period of time really can not find the accurate answer. 4. The populations - has to be a large group of peoples, in many geography areas. No to use the statistics for one spot answer to reflect the overall answers.

If the survey did not follow the way I recommended is purely waste of time and money. Also it will mislead the market direction of the company! It may caused the corporation big bucks.
Reply:Most people will not answer correct. Surveys are usually not very accurate.
Reply:i think we should take a survey on the IQ of your boss

What are your ideas for a brochure that explain Yahoo Answers Violations and Suspensions with the violations?

I was suspended a couple of weeks ago. I’ve had alot of time to think, and look good at the reasons that I got some of the violations. Some were false, but some were valid, and I’m sure I didn’t do everything right to be able to keep my account. So what do you think of this idea, send something out like this to everyone who gets a violation? With Some people, you need to spell it out, links don’t work, and you have to show examples. ?

How could you add to this? What are your ideas?

What is Yahoo! Answers?

It’s the place to ask questions and get real answers from real people. It’s fun and educational because you can ask questions on any topic—from the serious to the not so serious. And when you know what’s up, you get to help people out by answering their questions. It’s all about sharing—what you know and what you want to know. So, why keep your gnawing questions and brilliant answers to yourself? Jump in and start sharing!

POINTS!

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET 3 POINTS EVERY TIME YOU VOTE FOR THE BEST ANSWER?

To encourage participation and reward great answers, Yahoo! Answers has a system of points and levels. The number of points you get depends on the specific action you take. The points table below summarizes the point values for different actions. While you can’t use points to buy or redeem anything, they do allow everyone to recognize how active and helpful you’ve been. (And they give you another excuse to brag to your friends.)

How do I ask a question?

It’s easy. Once you’ve logged in, just:

·Click Ask at the top-left corner of any page.

·Type in your question. (Similar questions may appear underneath as you type, so if someone’s asked the same question, you might not have to.)

·Add any details that will help people answer it.

·Select a category for your question.

·Decide whether you want us to send an email sent to you whenever someone answers your question. If not, uncheck the Yes, email me answers as they are posted box.

·Click Preview. If the question looks ok to you, click Submit.

Remember: the clearer your question is, the more likely you’ll get really good answers. Use the Details section to provide additional information and further clarify your question. Taking the time to choose the best category for your question will also help make sure it’s seen by the people most able to answer your question.

For guidelines on what types of questions are acceptable, please refer to our community guidelines.

How do I answer a question?

Each question has a 4-day “open” period during which you can post an answer. Just go to any question in the Open Questions section and click Answer this Question to start. Enter your answer in the Your Answer field and include the URLs of any sources you want to reference in the Source(s) field.

How and when do I put a question up for voting?

You can put a question up for a vote:

·When there are two or more answers to your question.

·After the question has been up for at least 4 hours.

·Within the 4-day open period and before the question expires.

To put a question up for vote:

1.Go to the question.

2.Click Edit in the action bar below the question.

3.Select Ask for a Vote in the edit menu.

If you take no action and the question expires, it automatically goes to a vote.

Can I change my vote once I’ve cast it?

Sorry, no. Once you’ve cast your vote for a Best Answer, you can’t change it.

When does the voting period end?

The voting period is 2 days.

What happens if the vote ends in a tie?

The voting period is extended by periods of 12 hours until the tie is broken.

What is the “No Best Answer” option?

Sometimes there just isn’t a good answer. So when a question goes to vote, No Best Answer appears as an option along with the list of answers.

When a question expires with only one answer, the question automatically goes to a vote, with No Best Answer as the second option.

If an answer is chosen as the best, the question becomes resolved. However, if the No Best Answer option is chosen as best, the question is automatically deleted and the asker of the question gets five points credited back to their Answers account.

How is Yahoo! Answers different from a message board or chat room?

Yahoo! Answers is a place for people to ask and answer questions in order to share knowledge.

Unlike a chat room, Yahoo! Answers is not a place for people to ask each other how they’re doing or “talk” when they’re bored.

Unlike a message board, where a thread of messages can continue indefinitely without ever getting resolved, the questions in Yahoo! Answers are resolved when a best answer is picked. After questions are resolved, members who have reached Level 2 can rate the Best Answer and everyone in the community can continue to share their opinions.

How can Answers users contact each other?

No one can contact you unless you explicitly allow it. When you set up your answers profile you tell us what contact information you’d like other users to see. You choose whether or not you’d like users to be able to contact you via email, Yahoo! Instant Messenger, or Yahoo! 360. Your Answers profile asks you to choose a setting for the following options:

·Nickname: if you choose to use your Yahoo messenger ID as your Answers nickname, Answers users may use it to contact you via messenger.

·Communications:

Email Setting: Selecting this box allows Answers to facilitate email communications with other Answers users (all email addresses are kept confidential.)

Yahoo! Messenger Settings: Selecting this box allows Answers users to see your instant message ID and contact you via Yahoo! Messenger.

·Sharing:

Yahoo! 360 Settings: Selecting this box allows Answers users to see your 360 page.

·About me: This field is optional. Anything you enter into the text box will be visible to the public.

Contact permissions are always controlled by you in your Answers profile. To make changes to your profile and contact permission settings, go to My Q%26amp;A and select the Edit My Info link.

Email: When you enable email communications, Answers never shows your email address to the recipient (neither on the email nor on your profile page.) The only way to reply to Answers email is by clicking the reply link within the email and sending the message through Yahoo! Answers. If a person doesn’t have their email communications enabled, you won’t be able to send them an email message.

Messenger: Your instant message ID will be seen publicly on your profile page if you enable IM communications.

Please remember that chatting and posting your email address in your questions or answers are violations of Answers community guidelines, so please communicate to each other through the IM and email features instead.

Does it cost money to participate in Yahoo! Answers?

Nope, that’s one of the best things about Yahoo! Answers—it’s absolutely free. All you have to do is log in to your Yahoo! account to share in the wealth of knowledge generated by the Yahoo! Answers community.

How does the scoring system work?

To thank the Yahoo! Answers community for great answers, we give points for various actions. The points help you build your reputation on Yahoo! Answers and show the world what you have to offer. You need points to ask a question but you can quickly earn the points back by resolving your question and by giving an answer that’s picked as best.

The points table linked below summarizes how many points you get for each of the different actions you take. The points allow the community to recognize how active and helpful you’ve been, and they give you another excuse to brag to your friends.

http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_sy...

The levels mark your activity and show what Answers usage privileges you earned. The more points you accumulate, the higher your level, and the more privileges you get. We’re planning some exciting things for Yahoo! Answerers, so stay tuned!

I have multiple Yahoo! accounts. Can I use these accounts to participate as different people?

No, you cannot. Using multiple accounts to participate at Yahoo! Answers is a violation of Community Guidelines and may result in the suspension of your accounts. Please refer to our Community Guidelines for guidance on acceptable behavior.

This was sent from the YAT and it answered one person’s violations.

I would like to see that kind of customer service again.

Here’s a letter explaining what is expected.

Thanks for contacting me directly, I appreciate it.

I looked at your deletions, and have explanations for them below. I’m sure you already know that Answers is not a chat site or discussion board. Therefore, polling/surveying/and chatting questions are removed. There are a lot of them, so sometimes we can’t get them all immediately, but this doesn’t mean they’re ok.

Also, there’s a big misconception in the community about the way abuse reporting works. Let me try to clarify: each abuse report is reviewed by a customer care agent, and an action is taken (this could mean no action as well). The number of times something has been reported and by whom has absolutely no bearing on whether or not deletion or suspension ensues. To ensure the highest level of fairness, each report is checked against our community guidelines and determined whether it is in violation. We also proactively monitor the site, so sometimes a deletion occurs even without a report.

As for your deletions:

Whose Questions do you look forward to?

- This is a polling/chatting question. You’re not asking a knowledge question, but engaging other users in chat. This question would be ok in the forum, and we wouldn’t delete it there.

57 Points to Level 6 !!!! Want to help me get there? If you DO...see details.? and I would like 100 answers to this Question.....Would you Answer it for me please?

- We consider this point-gaming, a serious offense. You will notice that people who write things like “10 points for the best joke!”, “10 points for the first answer!” and “thanks for the two points” are deleted. Points are meant to reward legitimate, good questions and answers, and not to reward people who solicit them.

So, I said, Do you love me??? Or my Cat............?

- This is also a polling/chatting question. The most common appearance of this is “Do you like my avatar?” We delete these when we see them. It was a mistake for Matt to answer this question—it shouldn’t have been done because it gives the impression that questions like these are ok, and I apologize for that. I will communicate this with the rest of our team to make sure it doesn’t happen.

I hope these explanations are satisfactory. We know you don’t have bad intentions, and you are not in danger of a suspension.

Regards,

Amy

Suggestions from The Yahoo Community so you can enjoy your time here, not get violations:

Ask smart questions, be clear and concise in what you mean…

Good examples:

Question:

My 5 week old has infant acne and he’s having his picture made Thursday.?

Additional Details:

Does anyone have any suggestions on getting it to clear up? I’ve kept it washed good, but haven’t put any medicine or any other product on it to help get rid of it yet. I’d like to get it cleared up as much as I can by Thursday.

Can you pregnant while on the birth control pill?

My friend said she got pregnant both times on the pill. Can you really get pregnant if you take them like you are suppose to. I haven’t gotten pregnant but she has managed to get pregnant twice.

It gives enough info, so a good answer could be given.

Bad Examples:

Me m8 is a ginger, wat is wrong with him?

gingers

Can you get sick from eating your own boogers?

I would like your thoughts on this and any additions you could think of?

What are your ideas for a brochure that explain Yahoo Answers Violations and Suspensions with the violations?
READ MY ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION

the rules are so open here for anyone at anytime for any reason they want too

yahoo made them that way dont know why but they did

i got reported for the answer i gave one time it was

i cant see what yahoo is doing
Reply:I have just been barred from euchre unlike some of the comments I didnt even say gg maybe yahoo admin just gets bored and thought it was time to bar me. lol actually I didnt get time to say gg

have sent a email to yahoo but it is a automated answer so will just have to grin and bear it Report Abuse

Reply:your name is sex so you are the target Report Abuse

Reply:I don't think a brochure would help any more than the Guidelines site does now =(
Reply:I think they need a new way of dealing with the problems they are having.

suspension is a euphanism it is not true suspension is TEMPORARY a permament revocation is like chopping off you hand. it is too draconian.

your explanation for the question is too long and has inaccuracies.

First question are NOT open for four DAYS. they might be open that long but many people close out question within hours of posting them.

They need to have a short but direct statement that says in effect.

BE POLITE. DO NOT INSULT OTHERS. DO NOT MAKE FUN OF OTHERS QUESTIONS OR ANSWERS. NO CUSSING.

Stupid questions posted just for gaming purposes will be deleted and (double)points taken away THIS INCLUDES ANSWERS TOO... if you can lose double for answering a gross "joke" then you might think twice about answering it.

now there is no penalty for it.

I have noticed a decline in the quality of the questions this last month.

There needs to be a sliding scale to the penaltys for "bad content" posts and an explanation of what is "bad content"

I suggest just 5pt loss for the first violation and increasing by 5 each violation ie: 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50 all minus that way each 'bad content' incident is proportionaly penalized.

also special penaltys for cussing and direct insults like -25 or -50 per pop.

Another idea is to limit the person to level one posting limits no matter what their level is When they have posted 'bad content'

I think it would be best if they broke the rules down into sections.

several short sections would be easier to read...

One on how to post. one on how the points system works.

one on what is 'bad content' and the penalties for such stuff.
Reply:most people don't even know there are guidelines, let alone read them. A pamphlet would make no difference. The only ones who would bother looking at it are the ones who already understand and keep to the community guidelines already in existence

Best SPC control chart option?

Here's the scenario: Individual customer satisfaction survey scores (measure is % of surveys with 'excellent' score) collected more or less at RANDOM intervals throughout each quarter yet summarized and reported on a QUARTERLY basis as a single number. Number of surveys ~30 each quarter. Want to apply SPC limits to the quarterly, grouped number (ie % excellent among n = 30). Here's the problem, I think: 1. P-chart assumes rational subgroups that act independently of each other over time. 'Arbitrary' quarterly sub-groups are likely highly correlated since surveys are collected at random intervals throughout quarter and not at a specific point in time. 2. P-chart becomes ultra-sensitive as n gets large? I want to minimize the likelihood of a false positive (false alarm).

Is there such a thing as a moving average chart for proportions or attributes? Should I treat the individual proportions as variables data and use a MA or other chart? What are my options?

Best SPC control chart option?
You may want to generate the EWMA chart. It stands for Exponentially Weighted Moving Average control chart. Major statistical softwares would provide this option. For instance, SAS dose offer the procedure to construt EWMA chart, it is under SAS?QC component and the procedure it's called "PROC MACONTROL". You need to specified "EWMACHART" statement under PROC MACONTROL".

How did this question break the guidelines?

My question "What is your postmans first name?" was deleted. I put it in the 'polls and surveys' category. As far as I'm concerned this was a poll and survey question and I don't see how it broke any rules.

I read my violation email and it explains nothing -

You have posted content to Yahoo! Answers in violation of our Community Guidelines. As a result, your content has been deleted.

How did this question break the guidelines?
That was reported for chatting %26amp; personal communications.
Reply:Gil, Schuylar was correct that this would fall under Chatting %26amp; Personal Communications. The Polls %26amp; Surveys category allows you to ask in a more liberal format, but all questions are still subject to our community guidelines.

What type of questions can I pose to patients/service users to get a feedback on our quality of service?

I want to do a survey on customer satisfaction

What type of questions can I pose to patients/service users to get a feedback on our quality of service?
i bet you work for the council
Reply:i really need much more information - you do not even say what exactly service you provide
Reply:Types of question:

Open: people write what they want, usually good to have a bit at the end for any other comments, but not the whole thing.

Age and gender are important so you can have an idea who your customers are.

Get them to tick which service they used and use a scoring scale for approval:

A lot of the questions of the type 'please score this service in terms of efficiency (whatever) between one and ten with one being totally dissatisfied and ten being completely satisfied.

Also you can go with 'indicate how much you agree of disagree with the following statements'.

In terms of the contents of the questions, these should address:

what people liked, what they didn't and what they want changed.

Remember that if you are going to produce a document at the end of this with percentages of satisfaction with this or that or the frequencies of various complaints, you must ask the right questions and if they are open questions then you will have a lot to do when it comes to processing the data.
Reply:Three things customer want: prompt service, complete service and a cost effective service.

How long did you have to wait before you were seen/attended to?

Was the caliber of service to your liking? (or that could be rated on a scale of 1 to 10)

One thing with patients is that they want the doctor to spend quality time with them and answer all their questions, not an assembly line approach to things
Reply:hmmmmmm......what kind of services DO you offer?
Reply:ask them if they would rather have vaseline or KY jelly. nobody knows what your service is yet btw

RUGSUSA.COM = Complete ripoff!! Any previous customers that were able to get your money back??

I ordered from this site on 6/4/06; its now been over a FULL MONTH %26amp; have not recieved my order. They deducted the amount out on the 6/6 though - no delay there! I've called %26amp; emailed a dozen times if not more but they wont return emails %26amp; on the phone they either say it HAS been shipped, or thats it's ABOUT to be shipped... completely absurd! They are a Yahoo! merchant %26amp; I filled out my customer rating survey yesterday ~ was going to wait for my rugs to get here; HA ~, but I guess they didnt post the review...

Since they claim to have a 100% satisfaction garantee,I'd like to hear from past customers. what your experiences were like %26amp; how many years went by before you recieved your merchandise or a refund?

RUGSUSA.COM = Complete ripoff!! Any previous customers that were able to get your money back??
The first step to help you out with the matter is look at first link. It says that UPS is the carrier for delivery. and you should have recieved your order at the latest...6 days in the continental US.

The second link is for finding out your order status, there should be a routing number for UPS. If not call them back at their toll-free number requesting it. Call UPS with information. Take a good look at their return policy before making any decision.Your going to end up paying return freight if you receive them and decide to return them.Their is also a note there stating they do not want monogrammed rugs. Also says no refunds after 30 days.

You should start filing complaints now with the Better Business Bureau if anything. Use the BBB in the future to check on any

business also. Especially if buying online. I know I'm a great cheering section right now but have a dilemma also. Not your kind but with a rebate from Circuit City. It's been 4 months and they already sent me a rebate with what the kid typed in because I wouldn't tell the kid my name.My explanation was because I didn't want to be on anyones home mailing list or telemarketing phone log....so he typed in......Oyg Guil....looks French.I haven't even recieved the other rebate for the same reason. 2 rebates 1 received but not cashable and the other somewhere waiting on Oyg Guil. Good Luck and keep some sanity

Keep returning whatever they send you unopened and marked as (not at this address), don't be tempted to look inside, they will in time give up. It happened to me with a book offer thing. :)

Is this a back handed compliment?

I have heard of this saying before but not sure it applies here.

I am in a team of six, three boys and three girls for a business class competition. In this competition, we take on the role of a company planning to start a business. We have to come up with an idea for a business and then investigate to determine what is necessary to make that business a success. The type of business that we choose must be a Technology, Science or Engineering related business, but can be anything that falls within those categories. We have gone for a tech business.

So today we sat down and put together what each of us is responsible for to form the business plan. The guys really pushed for the roles of strategic planning, product design and development, finance plans and the girls have ended up with marketing design (but not planning), selling the idea, customer surveys and a sort of admin/hr combined role.

I've been proposed as the person to go out and talk with other businesses about our idea...

Is this a back handed compliment?
Lol I love the equality wrapped up in all that sexism. Sales and marketing was long considered a 'playboy' job for young, ambitious, go-getting guys, especially since it is commision based. Very recently women have shown some aptittude (on things like the Apprentice) and suddenly the success of them is attributed to them being a people person or having a warm quality!

The fact is, sales and marketing is a tough job, where you have to be likable and assertive, but with nerves of steel. It's a compliment that you've got that job, stuff the reasons why :-)
Reply:It was a sexist judgment. Which is to say it was a compliment and it was a reality and it was true.

Funny how that works....
Reply:you're pretty sensitive. he's right, women are definetly more comfortable with other women, and to men we are less idk, threatening, plus when they are busy staring at you, you get them to sign! idiots. you took it too personally. maybe you are just the best "man" for the job.
Reply:Men would rather be approached by a woman than a man? In a serious venture involving the layout of capital - I seriously doubt it. As a female atty - I was told by several prospective employers that men would not take business advice from a woman. It looks like you have the job that they do not want---surprise, surprise (history of women) and they are conning you into thinking that it is a privilege. Oops, fell for that line with the child-rearing job. If it is so important, and so rewarding... why aren't there more men working in day care, and why doesn't the job pay more?

Oops, off the subject.

No compliment - You've been conned.
Reply:100% true. Men might like to buy from women, but women, definitely feel more comfortable buying from other women... Like the first guy said - just a reality in business.
Reply:It's a compliment and also it is true that it is easier for women to make a sale than for men in many cases.
Reply:It is a stereotype, based on gender so it is indeed sexist, but more importantly , It's True!.

Back handed compliments:

"I think it's sooo cute when you say things like that that make no sense!"

"I really like how those little rolls hang over the waist of your jeans"

"I don't care what the other guys say, I think your pretty"

"For an older woman, you look pretty good"
Reply:Its neither, its a reality in sales
Reply:It could be sex-stereotyping, which is a form of sexism, however mild. On the other hand, have you proven yourself to be a good saleswoman? If so, maybe it's just a compliment.

So whats going on with a question like this? I see other questions like this all over the search engine.

Questions removed without a reason in the polls and survey section?
Hmmmmm, I don't see anything wrong with your question, especially since you said it was posted under Polls %26amp; Surveys. However, the unfortunate things is that there are MANY users who are just extremely report happy... especially when it comes to the "chatting" violation. It's as if they consider anything with the words "you" or "your" to be chatting, which is a violation of the community guidelines. For instance, they consider, "How long did it take you to graduate college?" to be chatting. It's absolutely ridiculous! So, I completely understand your frustration as I have been a victim of unjustified/malicious reporting.

Y!A's FAQ says that a question or answer will be removed if it's reported by one or more "reliable users." If the circumstance is more serious then the Answers staff may remove a question or answer themselves after reviewing it. However, the majority of the time they're just automatically removed and violation notices are issued, because of the way the Y!A system is designed. I personally feel the whole reporting/violation system needs to be changed because innocent questions and answers will be reported/removed while others, that are extremely offensive, are left alone. PLUS, I know that there are waaaaaay too many trolls disguised as "reliable users" who are out to get other users they don't like by wrongfully reporting them.

Furthermore, people who state their opinions are being reported as well. And Y!A says that having a strong opinion is NOT a justifiable reason for reporting someone. They just ask that users "do not use slurs to refer to groups of people, do not insult other members, and do not act in a belligerent manner towards others" when stating their opinions. Unfortunately other users still do report opinionated questions or answers regardless of the fact that they don't violate any of the community guidelines. This is EXTREMELY frustrating because honest Y!A users shouldn't have to pay the price for report happy trolls!

Now, Y!A doesn't list a reason for the violation because the majority of the time, the Y!A team isn't one who flagged your question or answer. When a user reports a question or answer they have the option to give further details as to why their reporting the question or answer i.e. "insulting other members." This will show up as the violation reason when the reported user receives the violation notice. Now, if the user DOESN'T list additional details, you won't receive a reason. I know this isn't the best format, but unfortunately that's the way it is.

Now, if you've received a violation notice you can appeal if you feel that you didn't violate any of the community guidelines. Just know that after appealing you'll receive an automated response that lists the community guidelines and then it will ask you to appeal again if you still believe your question or answer was removed unfairly. (Note: you may want to copy and paste your appeal's details and save it in a word document as you'll probably need to list it again in your final appeal). A couple of months ago I had a question and my points restored after turning over a violation notice that said I had been "chatting." So don't lose hope. People CAN actually win appeals. You just need to make sure that you address your case in a calm and concise manner as opposed to just asking, "Why?" or ranting. As a result the Y!A team will have a better understanding of the point you're trying to make.
Reply:Hello Badass Jesus,

Sorry to tell you that we are now governed with a first defense barrier when we post, it's called "Community Moderation", read ALL about it here :

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers...

I am including also a link to what is "chat"? :

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers...

And also Q %26amp; A formats :

http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/answers...

Since you are the only person knowing textually your deleted question, with all of this information, you will be able to make or not an appeal.

Good Reading, and Good Luck !
Reply:Someone figured it is CHAT

CHAT = violation

You get this is someone reports you. Maybe they got offended by the topic, whereas something like "do you ever shower 3 times a day?" might not offend them.

So dont' ask questions other people might think are gross or yuk or sicko.

Survey:Why Are Some Questions Consider A Violation and Others Are Not If They Are Similar?

Questions like: If were a Doctor, what's yours speciality and How would you treat the avator above you? How is this question consider "chantting" ?

Y!A have accepted questions and answers in this site recently and those questions are not "remove"

I have accept "email". IMO, the accuser could have drop me a line or two about my question.

I like to be HAPPY not SAD.

PS; You email customer service for a VALID answer that takes at least week. When they do, I am to refer to the community rules. They should reference my violation under the rules

Survey:Why Are Some Questions Consider A Violation and Others Are Not If They Are Similar?
I don't have the time to do everything the first answerer said - Even though it would probably help. I just know I have one twisted little troll, who likes to hurt and manipulate those around it. I am just going to roll with it, and trust that Karma is a *****!

Of course, Happy bunny could also bounce on it's head...
Reply:theY removed that one?

i liked that one i thought it was totally kewl how you did that one. it seemed like it was a good way to promote people to the site and not only that i kinda wanted to steal the idea... maybe that was why? They realized you were on to something? I mean i never thought of it until you did it and i kinda got the notion in my head but then i thought better than to steal it from you. ha ha

I guess it would end up causing chat in a way but not really but then it could have gotten ugly if people took it and twisted it around you know now that i think of it.. and i HATE to.

But lets say someone got evil but see that is stupid too because there was only like a handful of answerers. Who would have known but the small group there???

I don't understand with all these people on yahoo how the hell they have time to monitor just one person you get what i am saying? It had to be someone on your contact list then or yahoo is out to get us bottom line and has a ton of people working here.

I would start making a note of when it happens and where and how often etc...try to keep tracks.

That is what i am doing. I had a stalker on here. And she was removing all my questions and evidently yahoo didn't care. Do you have a 360?

I got not an answer not a question violation recently. and i though it was a damn good POINT regarding a speech and debate topic.

*edit* i just thought of something.. was it starred?
Reply:Because its people reporting them and Yahoo just deletes them without looking at them.*

The wine list?

Wal-Mart announced that they will soon be offering customers a new

discount item: Wal-Mart's own brand of wine. The world's largest retail chain is

teaming up with E%26amp;J Gallo Winery of California, to produce the spirits at an

affordable price, in the $2-5 range. Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to

throw a bottle of Wal-Mart brand into their shopping carts, but "there is a

market for cheap wine", said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing. She

continued, "But the right name is important." Customer surveys were conducted to

determine the most attractive name for the Wal-Mart brand. The top surveyed

names in popularity are:

10. Chateau Traileur Parc

9. White Trashfindel

8.Big Red Gulp

7. World Championship Riesling

6. NASCARbernet

5. Chef Boyardeaux

4. Peanut Noir

3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!

2. Grape Expectations

And the number 1 name for Wal-Mart Wine...

1. Nasti Spumante

According to Micken, "The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that

it can be served with either white meat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel).
