Why after filling out your survey did you load my note book up with bulk mail ? I was interested?
When you file a survey and put in your email address the company that you filed a survey with, will then sell your information to other advertisement agencies and those advertisement agencies will then send you emails to try and sell their product.

If you were looking for a mortgage, where would you start?

I am a loan officer with a mortgage company. The hardest thing about my job is getting in contact with interested customers. I get leads online, I despise calling people repeatedly. It's O.K. if you have a repeat answer, I'm looking for a survey, not creativity.

If you were looking for a mortgage, where would you start?
Put on a suit and go around to real estate offices. You want to focus on high producing offices in areas where you want to work. Hand out cards and shake hands with every real estate agent you can at each office. Sometimes they'll run scenarios by you just be you happen to be there when they get off the phone with their client. Be friendly and quote good rates. Now is not the time to run up your fee sheet or make a killing on yield spread - it's the time to make relationships. You can't be in the right place at the right time if you're sitting around waiting for the phone to ring. Trust me - this really works. Good luck!
Reply:At my local bank, less sharks there...
Reply:You are doing what most young loan officers do. I would be afraid of cold calling in these days because of the Do Not Call List. You should check the disclosures on the leads you get from your lead company. Does your company have a Do Not Call program in place? If not you should ask. Idon't want to alarm you, but on the other hand I don't want you to get into trouble because you are not aware.

You have selected a wonderful career field. You are pretty much on your own to earn as much as you want and be as successful as you can.

I agree with some of the others here, get out of the office, start a marketing plan that will make you successful. Sitting in the office with the other loan officers will not accomplish that for you.

You have to come up with a marketing plan that will get you clients without depending on others. So let's take a look at how to do this.

#1 You can advertise in the local paper stating that you do loans.

#2 You can mass mail to the city in which you reside or want to do business in.

#3 You can buy leads from a lead generating company, these leads normally cost upward from $25.00, however you must purchase in bulk of 100 or more at one time or over time.

#4 You may do cold calling, but then there is that nasty Do Not Call List.

#5 You can select an area of your city or place you want to do business in and concentrate your efforts in that area.

You have a wonderful job, get off your duff and make your own list and get potential clients. Get into the neighborhood, meet the people that need loans, want to purchase homes, have friends and neighbors that want to do the same. The only reason they don't recommend you is because they don't know you do loans. If they knew you or had information about you they might recommend you.

You should select an area of your city that you wish to work. Walk the area for about 3-4 weeks placing fliers on the doors of your potential clients. Talk to anyone you find outside.Get their name and email address you are already standing in front of their house so write the address down.

On your fliers you want to tell your potential clients who you are, what it is you do,and what you want to do for your potential clients. You might also give a little bio of yourself, such as schools attended, marital status, number of children and number of years you have been in this business. Make a project out of it, if you have children have them help you put out the fliers. Don't forget to stop by McDonalds as a reward or if they are older stop at KFC.

These names and email addresses as well as any additonal information you are able to obtain should be placed in our data base you will be starting.

Go to the commercial stores in this area and leave your fliers. You will find flyer holders at Staples or Office Depot. Don't forget to stop by and refill your holders. Get to know the owner by name, so he/she will recognize you when they see you coming in the door. Also make a habit of buying something even if it is for your children or spouse when you get home.

After you have walked this neighborhood for 3-4 weeks, make a newsletter indicating again what programs you have available. You may use articles from the internet, newspapers, magazines and other media outlets as long as you give the author credit. Mail your newsletter out monthly.

Remember the commercial people you have gotten to know you might ask if they want to advertise in your newsletter, since it will be going to the surrounding neighborhood. You might charge them about $50.00 per ad and they have to sign up for 3 or 6 months at one time.

Now you will need a professional team to assist you. I suggest you surround yourself with an attorney, a mortgage broker or real estate agent, a home owners insurance agent, a notary public, a title rep, an appraiser and others in a profession you think might help you be successful. You may add or take away from the list as you see fit.

Now these professionals should pass out your business card to people they meet that need your services. You should have a business card of their to give to people you come in contact with that need their services. If a few are not giving your referals, change that person with someone that will.

You will need to get the names of the people in your farm to mail your newsletter to. Contact your title rep, this person will be able to get all the names of the people in your area. Add this list to the data base you have started. This is a free service offered by your title company.

Contact the post office about a bulk mailing stamp. They will know what you are speaking of. Get a few lessons on what and how to bundle your newsletters for this type mailing. This is a method of mass mailing and saving lots of money.

If you are a mortgage broker or loan consultant don't forget to help the FSBO in your area. Give them support by assisting them with open houses, assisting in setting up an escrow closing agent, a title company and other services they will need.

You should be available at all open houses to pre-approve those that are looking at the house and are not pre-approved. Get compts for them to assist in coming to a good sales price, get your appraiser to assist in this also.

Now after about 2-4 weeks you should be getting telephone calls.

Join the local Chamber Of Commerce, meet the membership, Go to a church in your area, ask the minister if you can give free seminars to the members that might want to purchase a home and be pre-approved. Take an hour off go to the spa and work out, pass out your business card out to those that you meet and speak with there.

Find the new neighbors in your area. You know the vacant houses as well as those that are sold, give them a small gift and welcome package like change of address from the post office, Home Depot and Lowes offer free coupons so put some of them in your welcome package. Put any other thing you think will be of use to someone moving into the area.

A lot of people will tell you this does not work. They are right as long as you don't do it it will never work. You have to give this method about a year before you get over 4 deals per month.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

Reply:Screw mass mailings and spamming, and going door-to-door! I have the BEST Lead Generation there is. And, it's a secret! Not, really, our company uses call capture systems and lots of great advertising. We work with hundreds of Realtors, and generate limitless leads! The great thing is you get nothing but interested buyers and sellers. Seriously, I'm not joking when I say, it just plain works. But, they are soooooo expensive and hard to maintain. I've been in on it since the ground level, and I've learned that you have to have someone who knows what they're doing to build the system. Good luck everyone! Hey, if you're in Southern California, come work for us!
Reply:i network with friends and family, offer referral fees to them. I routinely drop in on realtor offices, that's hit or miss. I have been at this a while and used to do the lead calling thing, i feel your pain. thing is, you stick with it a while, it gets easier and easier to get loans due to relationship building and referrals, previous customers, etc.....

I want to give surveys(on my invention)to customers in major chain stores. Would store mangers approve of this

I want to know if store managers usually allow people to do surveys on their customers. What do i need to say to convince them to say yes?

I want to give surveys(on my invention)to customers in major chain stores. Would store mangers approve of this
Probably NOT within the Store but perhaps outside in the parking lot or sidewalk near the entrance ~ but it wouldn't hurt to ASK where would be most disruptive to your customers.

Say: I'm trying to gain/gather some research data on the consumer's impression of a new innovative product. Would you mind taking (tell the exact time it will take ie 3 minutes) of your time to answer 4 questions?

If you don't want YES - NO answers ask OPEN ENDED questions and EITHER/OR CHOICE questions so that you get a more specific answer.

There are many websites that you can write your own questionnaire and send it out via email and collect ALOT of data via a report and they are very easy to use.

stores pay good money to get people to come into the store and you want to hijack the potential customer for your personal gain? Get real.

You either need to do your surveys from public property [like the highway right-of-way in front of the store] OR convincingly answer the question "What's in it for the store?"

And, no -- the mall outside the store isn't public property. It belongs to the mall owner who rents it to the odd consumer attitude survey outfit, so you can't use that area for free either.

You can ask the Mall managment for permission and what their fee would be if ....

Help! Legitimate online work? Who knows of some?
I am a full time worker doing work online at home, so I can share my personal experience with you. When u are planning for a home based online work, be very careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site. Did you ever heard that if u r going for a job and employer ask you for money before hiring? After lot of search, I have found one website, where you can make $600 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting a discussion and answering a discussion. the link is:

http://tinyurl.com/yhzzph

But there is nothing called free lunch and you have to work if you want to make more and more money. When i said $600, i meant in a month, if you will work hard you can even make $1000 or more.. it all depends on your usage pattern. How u get money is through posting a discussion and replying to discussion. I worked for 1 hour daily last month and i got paid $238 for the last month. Its not bad after all, i am happy and making more. After sign up, do mail me to know the tips on how to increase your earning.

Please let me know, if you have any queries. I will try my best to give you right answer

I got a invitation from American eagle to participate in a survey and then I will get free stuff..is it true??

the survey name is called "u.talk.back."

This is what american eagle email said:

As a valued AE customer you’re invited to join an online market research panel and earn valuable rewards just for sharing your opinions.

• Earn rewards for the time spent answering online surveys

• You choose how many surveys you’d like to take

• There’s no cost to participate and nothing to purchase

• Your privacy is guaranteed - only welcome e-mails

How it works. Earn rewards for answering online surveys. The more surveys you answer, the more rewards you’ll earn.

What you could earn. Music downloads, movie rentals, frequent flyer miles and valuable rewards from some of your favorite retailers including gift cards from AE and more!

Do you think its true or a spam?

I know that the email is officially from american eagle.

I got a invitation from American eagle to participate in a survey and then I will get free stuff..is it true??
I think it is spam. The surveys will be conducted by a third party, and often, you will not "qualify" after answering a good number of questions--hence, they get their survey answers without giving you a thing. Also, by answering the surveys, you open yourself up to more spam and consumer slamming. (saddling you with a product or service you did not truly agree to buy)
Reply:idk, im trying it out but im not sure if its spam. its safe though cuz when u sign up theres a security lock and in the address bar it says HTTPS.. wich is supposed to be safe/
Reply:Well I signed up today and so far so good. I have 15 points just by answering surveys. The more surveys you answer, the more points you get. The only thing is, you need like 500 points for a decent prize and since I only have 15 I dont know if the prizes come through or not. Oh well Im just giving it a try.

Who works from home? What do you do to make good money?

I don't want answers like....ebay, surveys, polls, secret shoppers, stuff envelopes, sell Home Interior/Candles/Tastefully Simple/Meleluca ect. Or responses that try to get you to "join" something. I shouldn't have to pay to get paid. I'm looking for something legit.

I don't want something that promises I'm going to make $10,000 a month (scam) or something very out of reach.

I can't be a customer service rep who calls/answers phones all day with 2 young kids. And I can't be tied down for 8 hours straight with them around either. It has to be something real that I can do by working around my kids (during nap time ect).

I used to work at a big office doing taxes and payroll before my kids were born. That's way too stressfull to want to do from home now.

Please somebody help me!

Who works from home? What do you do to make good money?
I recently started working from home because I am expecting my first baby in July. I searched for quite a while before I found my current gig (I learned about it from another stay-at-home mom on this site). You DO have to work - it isn't a get rich doing nothing scheme - but it's a great company, comes with benes, 401K, etc. do your own research and you'll find something - good opportunities DO exist.

if you're curious about what i do, check out: freedomathometeamcom.com/jbarnes or www.iboplus.com/jbarnes

good luck to you :-)
Reply:I am in the health and wellness industry - (skin care cosmetics and wellness) it enables me to be my own boss and work around 3 very busy children - and I couldn't take a job where I had to drop it because my kids needed me - but I also have some time and feel the need to do something. The income potential is sales so I push myself to do well. It's just how I measure success not just $, perhaps the co. car

or sales trips too - or extra $ for all my family loves!

Pick up the magazine Success From Home - it has real people, real ideas and success stories.

Sadly nothing in life is free - nobody hands you the ideal job when you are a mom - so you do have to invest a little to gain a lot - or do child care or have an established job where the company trusts you over time and devotion to work at home -

Good Luck.
Reply:I put a little page up on my website that describes what I do. Go to www.thebestof.biz/newsletter/overview.as... and take a look. Email me if it sounds interesting and I can give you the details.

Total cost to start... $0.00

Total profit for me... $0.00

Reply:Hi there! I am an accountant who wanted more time at home as well. I own and operate MY OWN candle business. I do not sell someone else's product, I handmake in my home all of my products. I have reps across the country that sell my products for me for product and commissions. They introduce my products to their friends and email, fax the orders and I create them and send them out. The candles are fantastic and they are all natural 100% soy wax. We don't use catch phrases like "triple scented" because anyone that actually makes candles, knows that you can't have a triple scented candle. (Unless you make one with 3 different scents) Wax no matter what type will only hold so much scent so don't be mislead by people claiming to triple scent their wax. You are more than welcome to check us out at the website below and feel free to contact me by any means you see fit. I will provide samples, flyers, postcards with a discount offer to get you started. NO cost to you. I believe in my product and it sells itself unlike other companies that make you buy it before you sell it.

I don't want to leave my personal contact info here but you can reach me through the contact page on my website and I can give it to you then if you are interested.

Reply:You are going to have a hard time finding a job to meet your requirements. Being a mom of 3 young boys, I understand your time dilema of being tied down and not being able to be on the phone all day. You may want to look into doing daycare from home. You already have childrens items and movies, so you won't have to purchase a ton of items to help entertain or distract them.

You might want to consider the benefits of starting a home based business. The tax benefits are awesome. That is one of the things that got us interested in businesses.

Look at your hobbies and interests to see if there is a market or trend in those that can help make a lucrative business. That way the time and effort put into it will seem more like fun, than work.

After doing my homework, I decided to own an online travel agency through a really great company. I periodically check on my site throughout the day- the company I am with, maintains the site and does the majority of the paperwork for me. All I have to do is let everyone I know about my website (business cards, flyers, magnets on my van, online ads). The customer can book everything themselves. I have access to training 24/7 and have great mentors to help me when I have questions or problems. It was a really good fit for our situation.

Whatever you do, do your homework. Some states do not require you to be liscensed when you babysit only a child or two that belong to friends or family. I hope that you find what you are looking for and have a great day!
Reply:Find something that interersts you. It's important to do research so you can get excited about what your doing.

I have found a wellness company that is a wholesale buying site, and they give you the option to make money. It's great! and with everyone becoming more aware of products that are nontoxic and safe for everyone, even better. I am mom of 2 and I look into what comes into my home, and all these products are safe for my kids and pets to be around.

Again, its a wholesale buying site so everyone is a customer, but they give the option to make extra money at no extra cost.

Problems with yahoo going from bad to worse - where shall I go?

This is not a question but a simple fact of 'life'.

First there were and still are problems with receiving hotmails. Some are delayed, some bounce - and there seems no logic in who can reach me or when.

Upon reporting the problem I do get standard acknowledgements but no action is taken. Instead I get 2 customer surveys enquiries asking if I'm happy with the way Yahoo has dealt with my problem....

Then this morning I wasn't able to send mail to 12 people at once. Yet I still get used by hundreds of spammers using my address as their return address. I'm no spammer but am treated as one. The real spammers can still do their thing.

Then as of now I can't even access my mail anymore...

It's ludicrous, it's costing me business... Can anyone recommend a good alternative?

Problems with yahoo going from bad to worse - where shall I go?
Not to sound brusque, but Yahoo! is a *free* mail service? What do you expect? If you have a *paid* Yahoo! mail account then of course that is a different matter...

Help in regards to Marketing Project?

Im doing a project for my Marketing Class (DECA), and I am required to handout Customer surveys to a local company. Well my company happens to be a Cab Business that is owned by mu Uncle and Managed by my Dad.

The problem is that it's far from my home and I dont even know how to get the survey out to the customers... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Help in regards to Marketing Project?
Dear friend, if your uncle and father run the company you should not have any problem.

Just send the company the survey sheets (keep it as precise and to the point as you can- it is easy to use yes/no questions),

Ask your dad/uncle to put folders holding the survey sheets in their cabs so that cab drivers can in turn hand this over to the customers.

Alternately, if your dad/uncle agree, and if they have regular customers, send them the survey by post with pre-stamped reply envelopes, they might fill the survey forms for you and will make it easy as you will receive them directly at your address.

And if you are serious about your project, distance should not be a constraint.
Reply:What if the cab drivers were to hand out small survey cards that could be filled out while they are taking the fare from point a to point b - asking first if they would be willing to fill out a small survey - you will need to make sure that they survey is quick and easy to fill out in the cab. Collect the filled out surveys at the end of the day.
Reply:choose another company.

What do you think about a Mobile oil change service?

I am doing a survey to see how many people would use this service.I have been to walmart and jiffy lube and had to wait 2 hours to get a oil change. So i decided to reserach this idea and found a company that offer a van, equipment and training for 15,000.With tihis service we will come to you.Our customers would be individuals, business complexes and small fleets. We would offer the same service as jiffy or walmart but the difference

is that WILL COME TO YOU.Saving you time and at your convience. All response are important, thanks for you opinion.

What do you think about a Mobile oil change service?
there is a vehicle that does that in my town. I think it is great! Like you said, waiting upwards of an hour sucks. I call them and they come to my work with the filters and everything on hand and have it done before I go to lunch. I think it is a great idea and a great opportunity.
Reply:I do my own oil changes, thank you. Cheaper, and it gets done right.
Reply:Sounds like a business with a clear market potential. No doubt people would like the convenience.

But it seems to me you could get started for WAY less than $15k.

Set up a commercial account with your local NAPA to buy your filters, schedule your work a day in advance. Stop by NAPA first thing to pick up what you need, and get to work. Nothing to it. If you already have a car and basic hand tools, you could be in business for less than $500.

It seems to me that the key to making money doing this is to minimize the amount of time you spend driving from one job to the next. The key would be to find a way to do as many oil changes at each stop as possible. You might, for example, come up with something where you do one oil change for $29.95 (or whatever), but if you can do three at the same stop, then each one only costs $24.95, etc. Give your customers an incentive to cross market to their co-workers.

Survey! All Opinions are Needed....?

Hello! Survey Questions:

1) There is a new fast food restaurant in town. It has great foods and cheap prices. You can get your food there for lunch quickly, and you might even receive bonuses in your meal (like coupons) that could give you a free large drink next time. Would you come try it out? If not, why?

2) There is a donut shop in town. You can come there to eat donuts and drink coffee for breakfast. If you are a loyal customer, the store will give you a bonus on holidays. If you have a business such as a gas station, the donut shop will give you discounts for the donuts that you order. If you order donuts for a certain amount of time, you will have to sign a contract, but you will also receive extras for free on special occasions. Would you come try it out? If not, why?

3) Do you like the fast food restaurant better, or the donut shop?

Thanks for your answers!

I would rather have a nice hot meal once in a while, than sign a contract for donuts. There aren't many of us who own a gas station. The fast food deal would, in my opinion, be the best for the general public.
Reply:fastfood
Reply:1. I like your restaurant idea especially if you offered sensible choices like nice salads and not fast food with a lot of fat and sodium. I would frequent just such a restaurant.

2. I don't care for the donut shop idea at all. There is no redeeming food value in donuts and I would not want to encourage employees to eat such food items in a day and age where obesity is so rampant.(myself included.)

Did Y! Customer care dedicate a person just to Polls %26amp; Surveys?
Hi Woofie!!!

xxxooo

Why are questions being deleted??

I have a feeling they want Y%26amp;A to be

more like the geek forums where you

go when you have computer problems.

I don't think they want people to form

friendships in here. Which is crazy if

you think how popular this Y%26amp;A could

be.

Maybe they should make a new category

for fun stuff. Instead of deleting the questions,

they could make them automatically go into

the fun category, ya know???

Why will my 360 only allow me to have 1 friend?

I had almost 120 friends on, one day, boof, mast of them gone, tried to re-add them, said i was over my limit? I thought it was 250? Well, deleted all my friends to try and clear it, or re do it, and now it will only allow me to have one friend? Any details, anyone know why, or how to fix it. I've emailed yahoo 360 a few times. I get no reply, but constantly get asked to do their customer support surveys. Somebody please help. I've been working on this for a few weeks.

Why will my 360 only allow me to have 1 friend?
You can only add a few at a time, yes the amount is 250 and the invite limit is 100, go over that invite limit you will be stopped from inviting more ,it's an anti spam feature of 360

Wait till all of your outstanding invites clear either accepted or EXPIRED (delete the expired ones) and then try again by adding a few at a time 2-3 per week

I need to sort an excel spreadsheet (list of customers & locations) into 3 separate random lists (for survey)?

On my excel spreadsheet I have about 400 Company names listed in the rows and as columns have their city, state, zip, etc. I need to sort the data so that every 3rd contact (or row) is somehow exported or separated from the others. I have 3 people who will be using the lists to conduct a market survey and need the random sort so that it is statistically accurate and fair. PLEASE any suggestions are appreciated. It is Excel 2003 and I've already searched the microsoft help page and the internet for help!

I need to sort an excel spreadsheet (list of customers %26amp; locations) into 3 separate random lists (for survey)?
Designate a column and fill it with this formula:

=RAND()

Then sort by that column. This is outside of your "every 3rd" criteria, but you can give third of the list to a person.
Reply:LOL, Michael B got there first! Perfect.
Reply:insert a column in front of the business name column. In the first cell of the new column enter "=RAND" then fill down to the last entry. Highlight that column and select copy. Then rehighlight the column and select paste special. Select "values" as the thing to be pasted. If you don't use paste special, the random numbers will be resampled everytime u try to sort and will make the numbers difficult to reproduce or can get messed up easily. once it is pasted. highlight the entire spreadsheet and click on sort. This basically assigns each item a random number then rearranges them according to those random numbers.

Would you please take another survey?

1. Do you prefer apples or bananas? Why?

2. Do you have a flip phone or some other kind of cell phone? Why?

3. Would you rather have a customer service representative who is nice but doesn't know anything or one who is brusque and knows the answer to your questions? Why?

4. Is there anything more annoying then someone who asks "Why?" all the time? Why?

Thank you for answering Dragon's survey. ♥

Would you please take another survey?
I certainly would take another survey.

1. Bananas. Though I like the taste of apples better, my doctor recommends potassium %26amp; bananas meet that need.

2. I have a flip phone because it's easier to fit in pocket %26amp; purse.

3. I'd rather have brusque %26amp; knowledgable so my issues get addressed more efficiently.

4. I surely hope not because I ask 'why' almost all the time.

Thank you for posing this survey, Dragon.

One who is brusque and knows the answer to my question because i can't stand it when i don't get things that are important done.

Yes. Someone that doesn't question at all is much more annoying. I can't stand people that are too scared or too arrogant to ask questions. It's not possible to know everything. But it is possible to know absolutely nothing. At least you can TRY!

yes two little siblings who ask WHY? alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the time!
Reply:WHY?
Reply:I like bananas better because easier to eat on the run, I have a flip phone, just because I think they're cool, I would want someone to answer my questions, because I wouldn't ask questions if I already knew the answer or knew what I was doing. Most of the time people that ask why all the time are annoying, but Dragon's got pretty shinny teeth and I wouldn't want to upset her, so Dragon's "why" questions don't bother me,

Anytime, I like Dragon's survey!

Do you think Pizza Hut puts too little, just right, or too much sauce on pan pizzas - AboutPizza.com Survey?

This is for an informal survey I am doing for the AboutPizza.com web site. Many customers complain the suace cooks into the dough and Pizza Hut does not take this into account when deciding how much pizza sauce to put on a pan pizza. Of course some customers don't like too much sauce on pizza so I think we need to find out what people really think.

Do you think Pizza Hut puts too little, just right, or too much sauce on pan pizzas - AboutPizza.com Survey?
It really does depend on the individual store but for the most part too little. However, if you tell them you want extra sauce they usually comply.
Reply:Oh, Goodness they put just the right amount of sauce..... You arent living unless youve tried that pan pizza Report Abuse

Reply:I say too little...
Reply:Too little. That's why I don't eat there.
Reply:definitely too little....I even order extra sauce when I put the order in.
Reply:not enough
Reply:The sauce ratio seem OK to me, but the pizza (sauce included) is way way way too salty.
Reply:too little
Reply:I think it's perfect. The only thing that makes Pizza Hut's pan pizza better is to dip it in freshly made ranch dressing.
Reply:enough. I don't like to much.

Just wondering to know what kinds of items a foreigner will buy if he visits to China?

I would like to do a survey about items or goods customers from the USA or Canada would be interested to purchase from China.

Just wondering to know what kinds of items a foreigner will buy if he visits to China?
I prefer products made here (USA).
Reply:Sweet and Sour Pork, Pot Stickers, Egg Foo Young, and a bunch of Fortune Cookies, but only buy the ones with good fortunes...there are just too many bad fortunes out there right now.
Reply:Ahh,i love the answer posted by last visitor. China is an amazing country, their arts and crafts are pretty cool and there is no other choice you should buy for your friends or relatives. i usually make a purchase from Ebay, you can always find some good items from China sellers. Try to get the same experiences as me, you will be not disappointed. LOL
Reply:I spent 2 months in China for an interniship in 2004. One of my favorite things to do after classes was to go to the night markets in Hangzhou. Most of the things I bought were souvenirs for friends and family. I did purchase a lot of household/decorating things: scrolls, chopstick sets, decorative fans, etc. I also bought traditional clothes, scarves, and jewelry. And I always tried to buy at least one trinket or something from each of the temples or palaces I visited as a way to remember the trip better.

Makeup Question

Help me understand how to make a eqation out of story problem please?

In most businesses, increasing prices of their product can have a negative effect on the number of customers of the business. A bus company in a small town has an average number of riders of 1,000 per day. The bus company charges $2.00 for a ride. They conducted a survey of their customers and found that they will lose approximately 50 customers per day for each $.25 increase in fare.

The bus company has determined that even if they set the price very low, there is a maximum number of riders permitted each day. If the price is $0 (free), how many riders are permitted each day?

Answer:

Show work in this space:

c) If the bus company sets the price too high, no one will be willing to ride the bus. Beginning at what ticket price will no one be willing to ride the bus?

Answer:

Help me understand how to make a eqation out of story problem please?
First of all you have to make the wide-sweeping assumption that the number of customers lost or gained is a linear function of the price. Assuming this...

You need to find a function R = f(P), where P is the price and R is the number of riders. You have one point, namely (P,R) = (2.00, 1000). Assume that f(P) = mP+b, as is usual for a linear function. Then

1000 = m(2)+b

You are given that if P is increased by 0.25, then R is decreased by 50. This means that another point is given by (P,R) = (2.00+0.25,1000-50) = (2.25,950). So

950 = m(2.25) + b

Solve these two equations for m and b. Do this yourself before continuing to read. You should get:

R = 1400-200P.

The first question can't be answered. Sure, you can plug in 0 for P and get R = 1400, but how do you know they don't permit, say, only 1300 riders? The problem does not say. If so, the answer is not 1400, but 1300.

To answer the second question, labeled c), you need to substitute 0 for R and solve for P. You should get P = $7. Would you pay $7 for a bus fare? I wouldn't.
Reply:One hazy morning a telephone started ringing in an office of Mark Ignashin, an investigator with the prosecutor’s office of Tula’s central district. “This is a duty officer of a district police station. We’ve received a report on a mummified body found in apartment building No 142 on Lenin Street. We’re sending a vehicle to pick you up, Mr. Ignashin,” said the officer and hung up.
Reply:If an increase of 25 cents causes 50 people to stop riding, then a decrease of 25 cents should cause 50 more people to ride. Therefore, you need to find out how many more people will ride when you decrease it by 200 cents.

200/25 = 8, so a decrease of the fare to nothing will mean 8 reductions of 25 cents, and 8 *50 people will start riding. In other words, it is 200 * (50 / 25) more people, or 400 more people, for a total of 1400 people.

The rate of change of people per cent increase is

(- 50 people) / (25 cents) = -2 (people / cent)

If we want the number of people to be zero, divide the number of more people you want to start riding the bus by this rate, and you will get a value in cents. Since you want to find when 1000 people stop riding the bus, you need to use -1000, or a decrease of 1000 people, for the number of people.

Then 1000/2 = 500, or 500 cents, which is 5 dollars more, or 7 dollars.

Please help with this survey about grocery store lines?

1) When shopping at your usual grocery store, with at least 20 items in your cart, what factors influence your choice of checkout line?

2) briefly describe a recent (6 months) in a grocery checkout line that was unpleasant. What made it unpleasant?

3) if you had more than 20 items in your cart, would youuse the self service (customer scans items) check out line? why or why not?

4) would you use self chekcout if you had less than 10 items? why or why not?

Thank you so much

Please help with this survey about grocery store lines?
1) Shortest line, quickest checker (I shop @ the same grocery store every week, so I know most of them)

2) Lady right in front of me couldn't find her 'rewards' card, then the checker had to put in the phone number, that didn't work, I was getting irritated, then they tried another phone number, then her credit card wouldn't work!! Good grief!

3) No, because I wouldn't want to hold people up that had a couple of items

4) Yes, 10 items isn't too many for self checkout.
Reply:1. With over 20 items i choose the full service line because it is too much work at the self service line.

2. I go to Krogers and in the last six months have not had an unpleasant experience.

3. No. Too much work.

4. Always. It is faster and easier.

Survey rewards center . com?

I (stupidly) completed the offers for survey rewards center. com. Is there contact info that anyone knows about? I've looked all over the privacy policy and terms and conditions. All it says is that you can contact customer care to determine the status of your offers.

Is there anything I can do?

I've put money into this via the offers. Is there anyway to get that back because I preformed those offers with the intent to get paid by the website?
